It features a unique sap grain pattern interwoven with a rich orange hue. Similar to the beauty of ribbon candy and sometimes called candy striped Padauk, these logs are genuinely one-of-a-kind and create a vibrant, eye-catching pattern when book-matched together like these snare shells.
Filling the large open pores is usually necessary if a smooth, glass-like surface is desired. Reactive oil-based finishes, such as polyurethane, may have curing issues if the wood is not sealed properly beforehand.
